School record falls as Kennedy track and field teams compete in meet
Kennedy junior Inga Ruddell broke a 30-year old school record in the 100 meters Saturday at the Meet of Champions at Willamette University,
Ruddell’s time of 12.72 edged Rose Traeger’s 1978 record by two one hundredths of a second.
“This is a huge achievement, one that Inga worked very hard for,” Kennedy coach Steve Ritchie said. “Her ultimate goal is a state championship, so the school record is a nice thing, but she still has a lot to achieve.
“I would guess that record is going to come down further before she graduates.”
